about
The F.O.L. Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit,
was founded by Anitra Rice, the mother of Josiah, Jaden and Nicholas Rice.
It was initially started to honor the life and legacy of Josiah, whom we lost tragically to depression by way of suicide on December 7, 2019, in an effort to extend his legacy of loving others well, destigmatizing mental illness, and advocating for those in the Black community. Sixteen months after losing Josiah,
on April 19, 2021, Jaden, Anitra's second oldest also passed by suicide.
In wake of her grief, Anitra decided that the fight must continue.
The foundation stands to honor the lives of all three brothers Josiah and Jaden
as it was both of their deep passions to destigmatize mental illness and to help those who were hurting, and Nicholas, who is still living and whose name means victorious, is God's promise to Anitra of
life and hope for the future.
The love between a mother and son never dies.
The chasm between time and eternity cannot quench it.
It is this love that is being poured out through everything we do
here at the F.O.L. Foundation.
Love is the heartbeat, soul and foundation of what we do.
God is love. We love because He first loved us.
Love is here.
This legacy of love multiplies and continues.......
